Introduction
AI Chat for Lawyers is a cutting-edge platform designed to simplify legal research and consultation. However, its initial version lacked an efficient follow-up system, leading to user frustration and competitive disadvantages. My primary challenge was to design a seamless follow-up feature that empowers users to continue their conversations, receive clarifications, and enhance their overall experience.

Lack of Follow-Up Capabilities: The initial version of AI Chat for Lawyers lacked an efficient follow-up system, making it difficult for users to continue the conversation or seek clarification on their legal queries after the initial interaction.

Designing the Enhanced Follow-Up Feature for Improved User Experience
As part of our efforts to enhance the AI Chat for Lawyers platform, I took on the task of designing a follow-up feature that not only simplifies user interactions but also adds convenience and efficiency to the consultation process. To streamline user access to specific legal topics, we introduced a set of main skills categories prominently displayed at the top of the interface. This allows users to easily click on their desired category, instantly focusing the AI's responses on their specific legal area of interest.​

Increased Width of Text Input Field
Recognizing the importance of user comfort, we widened the text input field to provide a more spacious and visually comfortable text entry area. This enhancement ensures a more pleasant and user-friendly experience, especially during extended conversations.​

"Renew Topic" CTA
In response to users' need for seamless continuation of conversations, we introduced a "Renew topic" call-to-action (CTA). Users can now effortlessly renew their existing topics or send new requests, promoting efficient communication without disruption.

Understanding the value of detailed information, we added a "View full document" CTA. This feature allows users to access complete documents related to their legal queries, providing comprehensive context and ensuring users have all the necessary information at their fingertips.​

Expandable Component for Multiple Documents
For scenarios involving multiple documents, we introduced an expandable component within the chat interface. Users can easily switch between tabs to view and access various documents, eliminating the need for cumbersome scrolling or switching between multiple windows.

Recognizing the importance of document accessibility, we included a print option. Users can now easily generate hard copies of relevant documents for reference or legal proceedings, further enhancing the practicality of the platform.
